2006 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Seat Inner Seat Belt on 2006 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step to remove the rear seat inner belt assembly requires removal of rear seat cushion assembly followed by rear seatback assemblies on left and right sides then removal of rear seatback hinge sub-assemblies on both sides. You should begin by taking off the front door scuff plates as well as the quarter trim panel assemblies from the front left and right positions and the center pillar garnishes and roof side garnish assemblies. After the upper quarter trim panel assemblies and the package tray trim panel assembly, proceed with the removal while disconnecting clips and claws according to illustrated instructions. Start by removing both units of CRS anchor brackets with matching nuts before proceeding to take off the rear seat inner with center belt assemblies on both sides by removing their respective bolts and nut. You must remove the CRS tether anchor bracket after taking off its three bolts and anchor brackets. When installing the CRS anchor bracket mount the component first using three bolts secured at 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 in.lbf). Install the rear seat inner with center belt assembly on the right side through the application of the nut keeping the anchor section away from the floor panel's protrusions when applying the specified torque. The left-side belt assembly requires inspection of the ELR lock angular measurement and the retractor belt extraction evaluation at 15 degrees or below and over 45 degrees; a malfunctioning assembly should be replaced. Secure the inner belt through two bolts which require torque application to 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 in.lbf) while preventing the anchor part from touching the floor panel. A proper inspection must be performed on the ELR lock and child restraint system fastening mechanism to verify correct retraction and operational function with replacement of the belt assembly if needed. Afterward install the CRS anchor brackets to both sides with two knobs each that should be torqued to 18.1 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 13 in.lbf).
