2007 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the alternator on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: Begin the alternator replacement by disconnecting the negative terminal battery cable followed by removing the front wheel on the right side the front fender apron seal right side and the sub-assembly of the No. 1 engine cover. Begin the alternator replacement by removing the engine moving control rod with bracket as well as the No. 2 engine mounting stay RH and the No. 2 engine mounting bracket RH. The procedure requires first removing the generator V belt with the fan followed by generator assembly separation through generator connector disconnection, wire harness terminal B detaching and removing the nut and wire harness clamp bracket bolt and finally removing the wire harness clamps. The installation process starts by checking the wire harness connection between the crankshaft position sensor and the wire harness clamp bracket that mounts through the timing chain cover rib. Next, install the generator assembly with 2 bolts while torquing Bolt A to 21 N.m (215 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) and Bolt B to 52 N.m (530 kgf.cm, 38 ft.lbf). The next step involves connecting the generator wire onto terminal B with both the nut and torquing it to 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf). Finally, install the clamp bracket with the bolt that requires torquing to 8.4 N.m (86 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf). Impose the clamp before you connect the generator connector to the generator. Then establish the fan and generator V belt followed by the No. 2 engine mounting bracket RH, the No. 2 engine mounting stay RH, and the engine moving control rod with bracket. The reinstall process starts with the front wheel RH while connecting the cable to the negative terminal before running initialization.
