2007 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and replace the starter motor on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: Check both the connector connection and accessory installation as the first step before performing starter motor replacement or removal. Start the procedure by disassembling the battery tray then the air cleaner assembly along with its bracket through the removal of two bolts. You must start by taking out the air cleaner inlet assembly when you unscrew its two mounting bolts. The starter assembly requires disconnecting the starter connector followed by a nut removal for starter wire disconnection and finally removing the two holding bolts. The starter assembly installation requires the 2 bolts to be installed and torqued to 39 N.m (398 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) with a precise position. Fasten the starter wire to its nut but tighten it to 13 N.m (130 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) while also reconnecting the starter connector. Fasten the air cleaner bracket to its place using 2 bolts which require a torque of 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) before mounting the air cleaner assembly with a torque of 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf). Mount the air cleaner inlet assembly with its 2 bolts while torquing to 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf). Also check that the vacuum hose remains properly fastened. Reinstall the battery tray followed by the battery and fasten the clamp bolt along with the nut to 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) before connecting cables to battery terminals at 3.5 N.m (36 kgf.cm, 31 in.lbf). Finally, perform initialization.
