  A: Begin the alternator reassembly process with bearing installation of the generator drive end frame by using Special Service Tools SST: 09950-60010, 09951-00250, 09950-70010, and 09951-07100 in a press. The retainer plate should have its tabs fit into drive end frame cutouts before screwing it into place with four 2.3 Nm (23 kgf-cm, 20 in-lbf) torqued screws. Before continuing place the drive end frame onto the clutch pulley then connect the generator rotor to the generator rectifier end frame followed by a new generator washer placed onto the rotor. Special Service Tool SST: 09612-70100 enables the press installation of the generator coil assembly into the drive end frame. The assembly requires 4 bolts to achieve a torque of 5.8 Nm (59 kgf-cm, 51 in-lbf) before installing the cord clip with a bolt torqued to 4.6 Nm (47 kgf-cm, 41 in-lbf). Assembly the generator brush holder by creating a 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) space for the 2 brushes and inserting it on the holder before tightening 2 screws to 1.8 Nm (18 kgf-cm, 16 in-lbf) then remove the pin. The generator rectifier end frame requires installation of the terminal insulator while generator rear end cover requires 3 nuts torqued to 4.6 Nm (47 kgf-cm, 41 in-lbf). Radio Shaft Holding Tool SST: 09820-63020 and Clutch Pulley Wrench together enable installation of the clutch pulley onto the rotor shaft. Insert the shaft end into the holding tool which rests within a vise clamp. The Clutch Pulley Wrench should be fitted on the clutch pulley and torqued clockwise to 111 Nm (1125 kgf-cm, 81 ft-lbf) with no Special Service Tool while using a torque wrench with a 318 mm (12.52 in.) fulcrum length or 84 Nm (857 kgf-cm, 62 ft-lbf) with the tool. Complete the generator removal from the SST by inspecting free movement of the clutch pulley followed by installation of a new clutch pulley cap.
