2007 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear Wheel Hub and Wheel Bearing on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: Start hub and bearing axle repair work with vehicle-on-site inspections by measuring wheel hub bearing backlash with a dial gauge while maintaining the device at a right edge to the tracking area; if backlash reaches 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch) replacement of the hub assembly is required. A dial gauge set at right angles can check the wheel hub surface between the hub bolts for deviation. Replace the part if the deviation exceeds 0.07 mm (0.0027 inch). Disassemble the rear wheel and after that remove the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH by unbolting its 2 bolts followed by proper hanging. Move on to take away the rear disc component for those vehicles using disc rear brakes then remove the rear brake drum assembly piece for drum rear brake equipped vehicles. First disconnect the skid control sensor wire then remove the rear wheel hub & bearing assembly LH by unbolting its four bolts. Installation requires the 4 bolts of the LH hub & bearing assembly to be tightened to 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft. lbs.) after which bearing backlash and wheel hub deviation should be inspected. The skid control sensor wire needs straight reinstallation before installing the rear disc or rear brake drum sub-assembly according to the vehicle configuration. Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH and tighten its 2 bolts to 88 Nm (900 kgf-cm, 65 ft. lbs.). To complete the procedure install the rear wheel while applying 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) torque. Also validate the ABS speed sensor signal.
