2007 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the throttle body on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: The throttle body servicing process begins with disassembling the windshield wiper motor assembly together with the front outer cowl top panel subassembly before draining engine coolant. You must first disconnect all 3 vacuum hoses while removing the V-bank cover sub-assembly together with the No. 2 air cleaner inlet and No. 1 air cleaner inlet and air cleaner cap sub-assembly. This operation requires the removal of the No. 2 ventilation hose and air cleaner hose band and the disconnect of the vacuum hose (EVAP) from the air cleaner hose. Then disconnect the mass air flow meter connector before using the 2 bolts to take out the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. The sequence starts with disconnecting the throttle body connector and clamp along with removing the 2 water by-pass hoses to detach the air cleaner case sub-assembly and the throttle body by removing the 4 bolts. The throttle body gasket needs to stay on the intake air surge tank. Begin by placing a new throttle body gasket on the intake air surge tank before mounting the throttle body using 4 bolts at 10 Nm (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft. lbs.) torque and fastening the 2 water by-pass hoses while you reconnect both throttle body connector and clamp. Install the air cleaner case sub-assembly and the air cleaner cap sub-assembly securing it with two bolts, and then link the vacuum hose (EVAP) to the air cleaner hose while attaching the No. 2 ventilation hose and air cleaner hose band before refitting all three vacuum hoses. To complete the repair install the V-bank cover sub-assembly together with front outer cowl top panel subassembly along with windshield wiper motor assembly after adding engine coolant and checking for coolant leakage and attaching the No. 1 air cleaner inlet followed by the No. 2 air cleaner inlet.
