How to remove and install the rear Seat Belt assembly on 2007 Toyota RAV4?

The first step to uninstall the rear seat outer belt assembly requires disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable then waiting 90 seconds to avoid activating Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Proceed by removing the rear door scuff plate LH, rear door opening trim Weather Strip LH, package tray trim pocket subassembly (without rear No. 2 seat), tonneau cover assembly (without rear No. 2 seat), rear floor No. 1 board (without rear No. 2 seat), deck board assembly (without rear No. 2 seat), No. 2 seat hinge covers LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), No. 2 seat leg covers LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), rear No. 2 seat assembly LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), rear floor No. 2 board, rear floor No. 3 board, rear floor No. 1 mat support side plate, back door Weather Strip, rear floor finish plate, rear deck trim cover (with rear No. 2 seat), and reclining remote control lever bezel LH (without rear No. 2 seat). Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly RH through a process of removing the lap belt anchor cover and flooring bolt connection. To detach the rear No. 2 seat outer belt assembly LH (with rear No. 2 seat), open the cover then remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor. The removal process starts by taking away the deck trim panel LH alongside its rear No. 2 seat option along with the inner roof trim LH and the final step requires unclipping the rear No. 2 seat belt assembly by opening the anchor cover and removing shoulder and floor bolts followed by the seat belt. Start installation by attaching the rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly LH to its positioning holes before inserting the retractor with two bolts and torquing the upper bolt to 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf) and the lower bolt to 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). Then connect the shoulder anchor with the bolt torqued to 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). Install the inner roof side garnish assembly LH (with rear No. 2 seat) by aligning the claws and attaching the retractor with 2 bolts according to the torque specifications before connecting the shoulder anchor with the bolt then close the cover cap. Install the inner roof side garnish assembly LH (without rear No. 2 seat), deck trim side panel assembly LH (with and without rear No. 2 seat) and complete the rear No. 2 seat outer belt assembly LH by fastening the floor anchor bolt to 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) then close the cover. Meld the seat belt floor anchoring system of the rear No. 1 seat assembly LH while securing the bolting element with 42 N.m torque (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) and installing the outer anchor cover. Install the reclining remote control lever bezel LH (without rear No. 2 seat), rear floor finish plate, rear floor No. 1 mat support side plate, rear floor No. 3 board, rear floor No. 2 board, rear No. 2 seat assembly LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), No. 2 seat leg covers LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), No. 2 seat hinge covers LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), deck board assembly (without rear No. 2 seat), rear floor No. 1 board (without rear No. 2 seat), tonneau cover assembly (without rear No. 2 seat), package tray trim pocket subassembly (without rear No. 2 seat), rear door opening trim Weather Strip LH, rear door scuff plate LH, and finally connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.

Install the inner roof side garnish assembly LH (without rear No. 2 seat), deck trim side panel assembly LH (with and without rear No. 2 seat) and complete the rear No. 2 seat outer belt assembly LH by fastening the floor anchor bolt to 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) then close the cover. Meld the seat belt floor anchoring system of the rear No. 1 seat assembly LH while securing the bolting element with 42 N.m torque (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) and installing the outer anchor cover. Install the reclining remote control lever bezel LH (without rear No. 2 seat), rear floor finish plate, rear floor No. 1 mat support side plate, rear floor No. 3 board, rear floor No. 2 board, rear No. 2 seat assembly LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), No. 2 seat leg covers LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), No. 2 seat hinge covers LH and RH (with rear No. 2 seat), deck board assembly (without rear No. 2 seat), rear floor No. 1 board (without rear No. 2 seat), tonneau cover assembly (without rear No. 2 seat), package tray trim pocket subassembly (without rear No. 2 seat), rear door opening trim Weather Strip LH, rear door scuff plate LH, and finally connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
