2007 Toyota Camry Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch on 2007 Toyota Camry?
A: Draining engine coolant should be the first step when servicing the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch. Start by taking away the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly and air cleaner inlet assembly followed by air cleaner cap sub-assembly and air cleaner case sub-assembly. The service on the engine coolant temperature sensor starts with disconnectoring its connector followed by using Special Service Tool: 09817-33190 to remove both the sensor and gasket. The installation requires positioning a new gasket onto the engine coolant temperature sensor and using Special Service Tool: 09817-33190 to secure it with a torque of 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). After reconnecting the engine coolant temperature sensor connector the service technician should reinstall the air cleaner case sub-assembly followed by the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and the air cleaner inlet assembly. The maintenance completes with adding engine coolant followed by leak inspection before reattaching the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.
