2007 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the Crankshaft Seal on 2007 Toyota Avalon?
A: The process of repairing the engine front oil seal begins with front wheel RH removal followed by the front fender apron seal RH and the V-bank cover sub-assembly and the fan and generator V belt. One must use Special Service Tool: 09249-63010 to remove the V-ribbed belt before moving forward. Use a screwdriver tape-tipped for prying out the crankshaft pulley and timing chain cover oil seal until it becomes flush with the timing chain cover edge. Tool 09316-60011 (09316-00011) with a hammer enables the installation of new oil seals when applied with MP grease to their lip until they reach the timing chain cover edge. Put the crankshaft pulley with the fan and generator V belt (place the V-ribbed belt) before setting the V-bank cover sub-assembly and ending with the front wheel right-hand side.
