2007 Toyota 4Runner Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the crankshaft position sensor on 2007 Toyota 4Runner?
A: Service of the crankshaft position sensor begins with removing the generator assembly and engine under cover assembly rear by removing its 4 bolts. The procedure involves disconnecting the suction hose subassembly with the bolt followed by disconnecting the cooler compressor assembly connector then using the installer to detach the cooler compressor assembly from the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly. The crankshaft position sensor removal procedure begins with disconnecting its connector before removing the bolt. First lubricate the crankshaft position sensor O-ring with engine oil before installing it with the bolt where torques reach 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) while reconnecting the sensor connector. Safely install the cooler compressor assembly through the 4 bolts while applying 25 N.m (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf) torque and reconnect the cooler compressor assembly connector before attaching the suction hose sub-assembly with its bolt torqued to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). You should install the engine under cover assembly rear using 4 bolts that need to be torqued to 29 N.m (296 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf) before reinstalling the generator assembly.
