2006 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2006 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step in clutch release cylinder service involves disconnecting the flexible hose tubes through the removal of the bolt and tube clamp bracket followed by tool 09023-00101 usage to detach the tubes while collecting any fluid in a container. You must remove the clutch accumulator assembly by unfastening the bolt and 2 nuts and then extract the clutch release cylinder assembly by twisting off its 2 bolts. Follow the next steps by taking the boot and push rod off and removing the piston from the cylinder body without causing inner damage before removing the spring and bleeder plug cap. A torque of 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.) should be applied to the release cylinder bleeder plug before installing the clutch release cylinder kit together with its piston that requires lithium soap base glycol grease coating. Proceed with the installation of the clutch release cylinder assembly which requires torquing 2 bolts to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) alongside the clutch accumulator assembly that needs 2 nuts and a bolt torqued to same value of 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.). Fasten the clutch release cylinder to its flexible hose tube through the use of Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 and torque it to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) for the hose tube then 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) for the clamp bolt. Complete the brake reservoir tank with clutch fluid before performing the clutch system bleeding process and examining the system for leakage and checking reservoir fluid amounts.
