2007 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step to service the clutch release cylinder requires removing the bolt and tube clamp bracket to disconnect the flexible hose tube which can be followed by using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to disconnect the 2 flexible hose tubes while capturing any fluid in a container. Start by removing the clutch accumulator assembly through the extraction of its bolt and 2 nuts before proceeding to remove the clutch release cylinder assembly by unscrewing its 2 bolts. Remove the boot from the clutch release cylinder then remove the push rod, piston, spring, bleeder plug cap without damaging the inside of the cylinder body. To reinstall the the clutch release cylinder kit, first apply 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.) torque to the bleeder plug then continue with installation of the parts while including new spring placement with bleeder plug cap installation and using lithium soap base glycol grease to coat the piston before putting it into the cylinder body. The next steps include setting the push rod then the boot followed by screwing the clutch release cylinder assembly using two bolts at 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.). Attach the clutch accumulator assembly using two nuts and one bolt while tightening them to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.). Users should employ Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to link the flexible hose tube to the clutch release cylinder with a torque setting of 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) for the tube and 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) for the bolt. The brake reservoir tank requires clutch fluid before performing bleeding of the clutch system under 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.) torque. The system should run through a leak test along with checking the reservoir fluid level.
