2005 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder assembly on 2005 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step in the clutch release cylinder assembly repair requires disconnecting the flexible hose tube from the clutch release cylinder by removing the bolt and tube clamp bracket. Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 allows operators to disconnect the 2 flexible hose tubes which should then be collected into a container. Proceed with removing the clutch accumulator assembly after you remove its bolt and 2 nuts and the clutch release cylinder assembly requires you to unscrew its 2 bolts. The removal process begins by disassembling the clutch release cylinder kit through the sequential removal of boot followed by push rod then piston and finally spring from the cylinder body before performing any operations on the inner parts. Reinstall the bleeder plug after removing its cap and achieve the installation torque at 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.). The clutch release cylinder installation requires first reinstalling the bleeder plug cap then adding a new spring before applying grease on the piston and finally reinstalling the piston and push rod and boot onto the cylinder body carefully. First reinstall the clutch release cylinder assembly with two bolts that require 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) torque before installing the clutch accumulator assembly with two corresponding nuts and bolt tightened to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.). Screw the clutch release cylinder to flexible hose tubes by using tool 09023-00101 while tightening the 2 hose tubes to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) before securing the tube clamp bracket with bolt. After populating the brake reservoir tank with clutch fluid it is necessary to conduct a clutch system bleed followed by a leakage inspection of all components and a final check of the fluid level.
