  A: The initial step to replace the Floor Shift Cable Transmission Control Shift (MTM) includes removing the Instrument Panel Safety Pad Sub-Assembly w/Passenger Air Bag Assembly then the Air Conditioning Radiator Assembly and Air Bag Sensor Assembly Center. You should detach the clip and washer on the Floor Shift Cable Transmission Control Shift to split the shift cable top section from the transaxle before removing both the clip and shift cable from the control cable bracket. Begin by activating the lock to detach the shift cable from the shift lever retainer while you remove the clip that isolates the shift cable top from the shift lever assembly and extract both retainer set bolts resting in the floor. First disconnect the select cable from the grommet after separating the retainer from its place. Then pull the shift cable through the floor hole and retainer. Installation requires the shift cable to pass through the floor hole and retainer before connecting the select cable to the grommet and securing the retainer onto the grommet when all 3 projections of the grommet should fit into the 3 holes of the retainer.
