How to service and repair the Shift Cable on 2006 Scion xA?

To service and repair the transmission control cable remove the front floor heat insulator, shift lever knob sub-assembly and the rear console box assembly. Disassemble floor shift lever assembly and take out transmissions control cable assembly. To install, fasten the transmission control cable assembly and hook up the cables to the shift lever and transaxle. Install the parts back again.
