The process begins by removing the rear door scuff plate followed by the back panel trim assembly and then the rear seat outer belt floor anchor. After that, quarter trim panel lower LH and rear seat outer belt retractor need to be removed. Terminate the LH connector from the curtain shield Air Bag sensor assembly then remove its two retaining nuts. A new curtain shield Air Bag sensor assembly must be used when replacing a sensor which activated during an accident or displays any visible wear. Use new sensor assembly LH by installing it with two nuts at 17.5 N.m (179 kgf.cm, and 13 ft.lbf) torque before reattaching the LH connector. The installation procedures include positioning the rear seat outer belt retractor followed by quarter trim panel lower LH and rear seat outer belt floor anchor and back panel trim assembly and rear door scuff plate.
