How to Remove and Install an Air Bag Sensor on 2006 Toyota Tundra?

Before starting impact sensor replacement work one must first observe all safety precautions of the restraint system. You should disconnect the cable targeting the negative battery terminal followed by a 90-second wait period before Air Bags will activate. Start the installation by removing the front door scuff plate together with the rear door scuff plate, front seat outer belt floor anchor and center pillar lower garnish and front seat outer belt retractor. The removal process begins with disconnecting the connector from the side Air Bag sensor assembly LH before removing its three bolts. The installation involves fresh SRS components and replacement of any side Air Bag sensors that have deployed in accidents must be avoided. Replace the sensor assembly with a new one if the assembly displays defects and after a drop incident. Position the side Air Bag sensor assembly LH by threading in its three bolts which need to be tightened at 17.5 N.m (179 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) while attaching the connector. The installation process includes the front seat outer belt retractor, center pillar lower garnish, front seat outer belt floor anchor along with rear door scuff plate and front door scuff plate. The SRS warning light inspection follows reconnection of the cable to the negative battery terminal.
