2006 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair a Neutral Safety Switch on 2006 Toyota Tundra?
A: The service and repair process of the PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION (PNP) SWITCH begins with disconnecting the park/neutral position switch connector. The first step to removing the park/neutral position switch involves unfastening the lock washer then taking off the attached nut followed by extracting the bolt and disconnecting the switch. The installation process requires positioning the park/neutral position switch with its bolt before tightening it up to 13 Nm torque using 130 kgf-cm or 10 ft. lbs. force. Put in the new lock washer and nut afterward tightening them to 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 inch lbs.) before you bend the lock washer claws for nut staking. After the task completion both the park/neutral position switch and its corresponding connector need to be reconnected.
