2005 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 1 on 2005 Toyota Prius?
A: The replacement of Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 1 starts by draining refrigerant from the refrigeration system with Special Service Tool: 09870-00015 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080). The repair process begins with disconnecting the suction hose sub-assembly and the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe E (to cooler unit) using Special Service Tool: 09870-00025 while also disconnecting heater water hoses A and B. Subsequently, remove rear floor board No. 2, deck floor box rear, and rear floor board No. 3. The technician should start by disconnecting the passenger Air Bag connector then proceed to remove the instrument panel sub-assembly with passenger Air Bag assembly before moving on to detach the steering wheel cover lower (No. 2 and No. 3) and horn button assembly and steering wheel assembly using Special Service Tool: 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021).
