How to replace the water pump on 2005 Toyota Matrix?

Begin replacing the water pump by first taking off the engine under cover from the right hand side before draining you engine's coolant fluid. First take off the generator assembly after you remove both its V belts and the fan. Unbolt the water pump assembly's 6 bolts and withdraw the water pump unit keeping the O-ring with the timing chain cover. To install the water pump choose a fresh O-ring to place in the timing chain cover before using the 6 bolts to secure the pump. Apply 9.0 Nm of torque to bolt A and 11 Nm to bolt B when installing the parts. Reconnect the generator assembly and top up engine coolant before checking for pump leaks.
