Water Pump

Service and repair of the water pump begins by removing the RH engine under cover followed by draining the engine coolant and removing the drive belt. You should start by removing the water pump by taking the 6 bolts out together with the water pump component and the O-ring before cleaning the engine coolant from the water chamber room. The process of water pump replacement requires drivers to keep both the RH engine mounting bracket and generator in position. You should examine the water pump by looking at its drain hole for any coolant leakage before performing a water pump replacement if leakage occurs. Turn the pulley to check for smooth and quiet movement of the water pump bearing and consider replacing the water pump as needed. The installation procedure requires installing a new O-ring on the timing chain cover followed by installing the water pump using six bolts which should have Bolt A tightened to 9 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.) while Bolt B receives 11 Nm (113 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.) torque with Bolt A measuring 30 mm (1.18 inch) while Bolt B has a length of 35 mm (1.38 inch). The procedure requires reattaching the RH engine under cover and drive belt installation followed by engine coolant filling and engine startup and leak inspection then a final check of engine coolant level.

Bolt A is 30 mm (1.18 inch) and Bolt B is 35 mm (1.38 inch).

Remove the right-hand engine under cover, drain the engine coolant, and remove the drive belt.

Take out the six bolts, the water pump, and the O-ring.

Install the water pump with the 6 bolts, ensuring to torque bolt A to 9.0 Nm and bolt B to 11 Nm.

Attach the water pump using 6 bolts.

Reinstall the generator assembly, inspect for coolant leaks, check for engine coolant leaks, and finally, reinstall the engine under cover RH.

Take out the 6 bolts and then remove the water pump.

Visually check the drain hole of the water pump assembly for coolant leakage.

Place a new O-ring on the timing chain cover, install the water pump with the 6 bolts, and torque Bolt A to 9.0 Nm and Bolt B to 11 Nm.

Visually check the drain hole for coolant leakage; if leakage is found, replace the water pump.

Reinstall the generator assembly, add engine coolant, check for any coolant leaks, and finally, reinstall the engine under cover RH.

Install the engine under cover RH.

Add coolant and check for engine coolant leaks.

First, drain the engine coolant and remove the drive belt.

Visually check the drain hole for coolant leakage.

Install the water pump using the 6 bolts, tightening Bolt A to 9 Nm and Bolt B to 11 Nm.

It is important not to remove the RH engine mounting bracket and generator.

Place a new O-ring into the timing chain cover.
