- Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor Assy Center on 2005 Toyota Highlander?A: The first step to replace the Air Bag Sensor Assy Center involves observing restraint system service precautions while also disconnecting the battery negative terminal. Take off the floor carpet covers from both sides and also remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly center and rear console box lower which contains rear seat entertainment and the box bottom mat alongside the console box assembly. Begin by taking out the air ducts rear parts Number 2 and Number 1 and then handle the air bag sensor assembly center by disconnecting its 3 connectors and unfastening 3 bolts. The procedure to install the new air bag sensor assembly center requires switching off the ignition and disconnecting the battery negative terminal then waiting for at least 90 seconds before beginning the operation. The sensor must be installed with its three bolts yet avoid all damage to the sensor during installation against drops or defects also maintain SRS wiring free from any constriction. Reconnect the 3 connectors and double-check the installation parts for looseness. Also verify the water-proof sheet is placed correctly.
