2005 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the FRONT CONTROL ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 LH on 2005 Toyota Avalon?
A: The procedure starts with FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 LH replacement which requires initial removal of engine assembly with transaxle and then removal of transverse engine mounting insulator after unfastening 3 nuts. Start by detaching the two front bolts of the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No.1 LH followed by removing its bolt and nut located on the rear side. Remove the assembly together with the front lower arm bush stopper. The front lower arm bush stopper should be attached to the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No.1 LH while using 2 bolts on the front side with a bolt (A) torque of 200 Nm (2,040 kgf-cm, 148 ft. lbs.). Next, install the bolt and nut on the rear side that requires a torque of 206 Nm (2,100 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.) for bolt (B). The engine mounting insulator goes back in place with its 3 nuts reaching 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.) torque before mounting the engine assembly with transaxle.
