How to replace a thermostat on 2005 Scion xB?

The first step to replace a thermostat requires draining engine coolant. First disconnect the water inlet from the cylinder block by removing its two nuts then separating its components from each other. Set the new thermostat with the jiggle valve oriented upwards before putting a gasket on it while positioning it between 10 degrees of either side. Reattach the water inlet by applying 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.) torque but make sure no gasket remains trapped between the two components. Once finished add engine coolant before searching for leakages.
