  A: The Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring replacement process starts by following restraint system service rules and performing a battery negative terminal disconnection. Start by directing the front wheels straight ahead and proceed to remove the horn button assembly together with the steering wheel assembly using Special Service Tool: 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021). First disconnect the steering column cover using three screws which allows access to remove the clock spring sub-assembly after separating both the Air Bag connector and the connector from the sub-assembly then unfastening the 3 claws. Check the clock spring sub-assembly connector for scratches and cracks and also search for any present cracks dents or chips. Replace the component with a new one if needed. Set the turn signal switch to neutral before installing the new clock spring sub-assembly through 3 claw engagement and connection of the Air Bag connector and clock spring sub-assembly connector. Reattach the steering column cover with its 3 screws before adjusting the clock spring sub-assembly when the ignition switch turns off and you disconnect the battery negative terminal for 90 seconds then turn the clock spring sub-assembly counterclockwise until firm and rotate it clockwise by 2.5 turns to reach the mark alignment.
