2005 Scion xA Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Front No. 1 Car Speakers Assembly on 2005 Scion xA?
A: The replacement process for the Front No. 1 Speaker Assembly begins with the removal of Front Door Lower Frame Bracket Garnish LH followed by Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly and Front Door Trim Board Sub-Assembly LH. Drill the 3 rivet heads of the Front No. 1 Speaker Assembly using a smaller than 4 mm (0.16 in.) drill to unfasten it until complete separation from the front door panel. Perform these operations by rotating the drill carefully around each rivet head to cut through the flanges. Take care to handle the cut rivet which is hot before you continue to drill out remaining pieces of debris. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove both drilled rivet pieces along with the dust from the interior of the front door panel. Installation of the Front No. 1 Speaker Assembly to the front door panel requires an air or hand riveter for securing three new strike rivets in their specific sequence based on the provided illustration. A proper and safe installation requires that you do not prize with the riveter and that the riveter must stay perpendicular and connected to materials until the secure clamp is achieved to protect against misalignment. The installation of the rivet must take place only when materials have zero clearance between them.
