2004 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Yaw Sensor on 2004 Toyota Solara?
A: Beginning the yaw rate sensor replacement requires a check of the unit's condition and direction towards the body in addition to confirming the absence of foreign debris between the sensor bracket and body. The first step is to take out both the console upper rear panel sub-assembly and the console box assembly rear. First disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector before you remove the two bolts which secure the yaw rate sensor. The new yaw rate sensor installation requires two bolts for which you should apply torque to 13 Nm (127 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) before reattaching the yaw rate sensor connector. The console box assembly rear together with the console upper rear panel sub-assembly should be reinstated. The installation process requires you to do yaw rate sensor zero point calibration and check the ABS warning light and VSC warning light.
