2004 Toyota Echo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the Air Bag Sensor on the sedan on 2004 Toyota Echo?
A: The first step in servicing and repairing the impact sensor of the sedan starts with disconnecting the connectors through a sliding motion in the direction marked by arrows after holding both outer sides simultaneously while the connectors unlock. Handle the connectors at the flank positions because grasping the top and bottom areas will prevent disconnection. Keep sensor connectors in the same direction shown on the illustration then link male ends with female ends without causing friction. After correct positioning the outer will automatically move backward; push it slowly until the outer reaches its normal position. The connectors will separate when the fitting process stops at any point before locking. The connectors need to be pushed all the way into their required position before locking completely. Following installation perform a gentle pull check to verify the lock is secure. A locking sound will emerge while you fit the parts and the outer component should return to its natural position after locking. Holding the outer bag during fitting should be avoided since the item will naturally shift during that time.
