How to Replace a Speed Sensor in a Transmission on 2004 Scion xB?

Begin the Transmission Revolution Sensor (ATM) replacement process by disconnecting the wire harness clamp and removing 2 respective bolts while taking off the air cleaner assembly and air cleaner bracket. The transmission revolution sensor requires removal after disconnecting both connector and bolting. Start by dipping the O-ring into ATF fluid before installing the transmission revolution sensor along with its bolt while tightening it to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in. lbs.) torque. Lastly reconnect the transmission connector. Place two bolts on the air cleaner bracket then tighten them to 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) before connecting the wire harness clamp to its bracket before assembly installation of the air cleaner.
