    Q:
How to service the front wheel speed sensor on Toyota Prius? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service of the front wheel speed sensor needs you to disconnect the speed sensor connector by first removing the front wheel with 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) torque and then removing the fender liner. Beginning the speed sensor service demands first removing the speed sensor connector along with its resin clip. Start with uninstalling the 2 clamp bolts that connect the sensor harness to the body and shock absorber at 5.5 Nm with a torque of 56 kgf-cm along with 49 inch lbs. Then remove the installation bolt to take out the front speed sensor from the steering knuckle at 8.0 Nm while using 82 kgf-cm and 71 inch lbs. torque values. Confirm that the sensor area and the knuckle region have no foreign material while making sure the sensor rests flat against the knuckle during bolt tightening. The installation process runs opposite to removal steps while post-installation verification should check the speed sensor signal.
