Q: How to replace a Wheel Stud on the rear axle LH hub on 2003 Toyota Highlander?
A: The first step to replace the rear axle LH wheel stud requires wheel removal from the rear position. Workers should start by separating the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH through 2 bolt removal and proper brake caliper support. Proceed to remove the rear disc after executing the step. Special Service Tool: 0962-10011 together with a screwdriver or alternate tool should be used to keep the wheel stud stable during removal. You need to install the new stud for the rear axle LH wheel by placing a washer along with a nut on the stud according to the illustration before using a screwdriver to maintain it while you torque the nut. The new rear disc should be rehanged following the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH reattachment with its two bolts tightened at 58 Nm (592 kgf-cm, 43 ft. lbs.) for 4WD models or 61.8 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.) for 2WD versions.
