    A: The replacement process for Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring begins by disconnecting negative battery terminal along with setting the front wheels directly forward. The procedure starts with using tool 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021) to remove the horn button assembly and steering wheel assembly and it continues with taking out the steering column cover. To remove the clock spring sub-assembly start by disconnecting its Air Bag connector followed by releasing the connector from the sub-assembly and finally releasing the 3 claws to remove it. Check the clock spring sub-assembly connector for all scratches and connector cracks as well as cracks or dents or chipping on its surface. Replace the sub-assembly with a new one when any such conditions are discovered. The procedure to install the clock spring sub-assembly starts by positioning the turn signal switch to neutral and using the 3 claws to attach the assembly while connecting the Air Bag connector. Secure the steering column cover through 3 screws installation. The clock spring requires centering through a battery disconnect and ignition switch deactivation for 90 seconds before manual counterclockwise turning followed by clockwise rotation to 2.5 turns for marking alignment. Screw the steering wheel assembly into place following a torque of 50 Nm along with the horn button assembly receiving 8.8 Nm torque. Check both the horn button assembly and SRS warning light as the last step of this procedure.
