The procedure starts with using tool 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021) to remove the horn button assembly and steering wheel assembly and it continues with taking out the steering column cover. To remove the clock spring sub-assembly start by disconnecting its Air Bag connector followed by releasing the connector from the sub-assembly and finally releasing the 3 claws to remove it. Check the clock spring sub-assembly connector for all scratches and connector cracks as well as cracks or dents or chipping on its surface. Replace the sub-assembly with a new one when any such conditions are discovered. The procedure to install the clock spring sub-assembly starts by positioning the turn signal switch to neutral and using the 3 claws to attach the assembly while connecting the Air Bag connector.
