The installation process begins with cleaning the oil cooler contact surface on the mounting before putting on a new O-ring followed by applying a light engine oil coat on the union bolt threads. Fitting the oil cooler requires a union bolt and plate washer installed first with proper 68 Nm torque (693 kgf-cm or 50 ft. lbs.) before attaching the 2 oil cooler hoses. The installation of the oil filter sub-assembly requires Special Service Tool: 09228-7501 before engine oil and engine coolant additions and checking the engine oil level followed by an inspection of engine oil and coolant leaks. Secure the V-bank cover by installing its 2 nuts and torquing them to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 inch lbs.).
