Start by testing the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly through clockwise and counterclockwise movement for any trapped objects; when a malfunction exists substitute the tensioner. The installation of the new V-ribbed belt requires a 6 mm (0.24 inch) bar into the holes of the belt tensioner after turning it counterclockwise so it can align with its holes. Fit the belt before uninstalling the bar as you keep turning the belt tensioner in a counterclockwise direction.
