The procedure to service the engine oil cooler begins with draining engine coolant before removing both the oil filter sub-assembly along with the V-bank cover. The service process begins with disconnecting the oil cooler hoses before removing the union bolt and plate washer and oil cooler assembly together with its O-ring from the cooler. The equipment inspector should check the oil cooler assembly for damage and clogging issues before installing a new assembly when needed. The first step for installation involves surface cleaning of the oil cooler mounting area and then placing a new O-ring onto the cooler before applying engine oil on the union bolt threads. Install the oil cooler and plate washer together with the union bolt at 68 Nm (693 kgf/cm, 50 ft. lbs.) then attach the 2 oil cooler hoses to their proper locations. The next step involves the installation of the oil filter sub-assembly followed by adding engine coolant and engine oil until reaching the correct level. Inspect both the engine oil level and search for any leakage. You should inspect for engine coolant leakage followed by installing the V-bank cover using 2 nuts that require a torque of 7.5 Nm (76 kgf/cm, 66 in. lbs.).

The initial step to install the oil cooler assembly for the 2UZ-FE lubrication system is to clean the oil cooler contact surface on the cooler mounting. Start by placing a new O-ring onto the oil cooler before applying engine oil on the union bolt threads and beneath its head. The plate washer together with a new union bolt should be installed while applying 69 Nm (700 kgf-cm or 51 ft-lbf) torque. The two oil cooler hoses must be connected to the cooler unit. Install the oil filter assembly before filling engine oil and engine coolant into their specified areas. Engine oil leak inspection must be followed by checking for engine coolant leakages. Instillation of the engine under cover assembly rear serves as the final stage.

Drain the engine oil and coolant.

Finally, install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts, torquing them to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 inch lbs.).

Clean the oil cooler contact surface on the cooler mounting.

Install the V-bank cover using the 2 nuts, with a torque of 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf).
