A: Starting the removal process of Air Bag Sensor Assembly requires both the front console box and lower center cover removal. The rear heater ducts can be detached from double cab models through bolt removal of two units. Use caution during the removal process because you have to maintain the sensor assembly inside the connector when disconnecting its 3 connectors. Start by taking out the bolt serving to fasten the No.1 brace against the floor while using a torx wrench (T40, Part No.09042-00020 or locally manufactured tool) to remove its three securing screws holding the Air Bag sensor assembly. Use the torx wrench to install the Air Bag sensor assembly with three screws according to specification by tightening them to 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). Reinstall the bolt that holds the No.1 brace to the floor. Then connect all the 3 connectors ensuring the sensor assembly meets torque specifications. An Air Bag sensor assembly replacement is necessary when it suffers any drop damage or exhibits indications of damage. The SRS wiring must stay free from interference with other components while Installation and must stay away from pinching. Shake the sensor assembly after installation to check for looseness. Finally, reinstall any removed parts.
