2002 Toyota Sequoia Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2002 Toyota Sequoia?
A: The Camshaft Position Sensor service requires vehicle operators to remove the engine coolant and drive belt before taking out the LH No.3 timing belt cover. First remove the camshaft position sensor through the process of dismantling its bolt then stud bolt followed by removal of the sensor. Set the camshaft position sensor into its designated slot using bolt and stud bolt accessory and tighten them to 7.5 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf). Reinstall the LH No.3 timing belt cover and then install the drive belt on its holder. After filling the engine coolant you need to verify the ignition timing while checking for any leaks that may have developed.
