A: Service and repair of the wheel bearing requires you to start by detaching the lower ball joint through the removal of its cotter pin and nut followed by using Special Service Tool: 09628-62011 to remove the lower ball joint. The service requires removal of the axle hub through use of Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00010, 09521-00020) followed by extraction of the inner race from the axle hub using Special Service Tool: 09950-40011 (09951-04020, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04011, 09957-04010, 09958-04011), 09950-60010, 09951-00370. Begin by removing the dust cover through T30 torx socket bolt unscrewing of the 3 bolts. Secure the 3 bolts of the dust cover by tightening them with a torx socket (T30) until they reach 8.3 Nm torque (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.). For front axle hub installation use Special Service Tools: 09608-32010 and 09950-00010 (09951-00550), 09950-70010 (09951-07150) with a press to tighten the lower ball joint nut to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) after which a new cotter pin should be inserted to align the pin holes up to 60 degrees.
