Front Hub

Begin the wheel bearing service by removing the two pin punch and hammer pins from the ABS speed sensor and following with the two attachments elimination process using tool set 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00020). Place the axle hub assembly inside a soft jaw vise but dispose of it after drops or strong shocks. Use Special Service Tools 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00020), 09950-00020 and 2 bolts (Diameter: 12 mm, Pitch: 1.5 mm) to eliminate the ABS speed sensor by steering clear of particulate matter on the sensor rotor and extracting it in a straight direction to minimize damage. The axle hub assembly needs replacement when the sensor rotor becomes damaged while avoiding any scratches to the contacting surface between the axle hub and speed sensor. When reassembling the system clean both the axle hub and the new ABS speed sensor while verifying that no material exists on the sensor rotor. Install the new ABS speed sensor onto the axle hub with the connector Down while employing Special Service Tool: 09214-76011 and a press tool. Use the tool to make straight and slow presses for proper installation without damaging the sensor.

Install the lower ball joint and tighten the nut to a torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.), then insert a new cotter pin, adjusting the nut further up to 60° if the cotter pin holes are misaligned.

Replace the axle hub assembly.

The torque should be 52 Nm (525 kgf-cm, 38 ft. lbs.).
