Begin brake caliper service and repair by first removing and securing the rear wheel after fastening its disc with hub nuts tightened to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). First disconnect the parking brake cable along with the flexible hose from the caliper through the removal of the union bolt and its gasket while measuring torque at 30 Nm (310 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.). A container should be used to hold brake fluid when working and the flexible hose lock must be placed correctly into the caliper lock hole before reinstallation. The caliper needs removal by dismounting its bolt then tightening it to 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.) before removing all two pads along with 4 anti-squeal shims and 4 pad support plates. The installation process involves following the reverse steps of removal including refilling the brake reservoir brake fluid and performing a brake system bleed followed by leak inspection.
