Headlamp Switch

Before commencing work on the headlamp dimmer switch remove the battery negative terminal then let time pass for one and a half minutes to stop Air Bag activation. The vehicle should have its front wheels facing in a straight direction. The first step is to remove the steering wheel cover lower No.3 before proceeding to remove the steering wheel cover lower No.2 and then the horn button assembly. Begin the removal process by uninstalling the steering wheel then move to lower steering column cover followed by steering column cover. Proceed to remove the spiral cable sub-assembly followed by removing the headlight dimmer switch assembly through the disconnection of the connector, clamp disengagement from the assembly and assembly disengagement through the claw sequence as illustrated.

The procedure to remove the headlight dimmer switch begins when you follow relevant sequential steps for removing the spiral cable sub-assembly from restraint systems and Clock Spring assembly. Begin by detaching the connectors from the windshield wiper switch assembly followed by removing the wiper switch using a screwdriver with taped tip which unclips the claw while taking care not to use force to prevent damage to the parts. The last step of removal involves disconnecting the connector from the headlight dimmer switch assembly then removing the switch as displayed while freeing the two claws to finish the process.

Remove the steering column cover lower and the steering column cover.

Inspect the steering wheel center point.

Reinstall the spiral cable sub-assembly, the steering column cover, and the steering column cover lower.

Install the spiral cable sub-assembly using the appropriate procedures for the restraint systems and air bag systems, specifically the clockspring assembly and spiral cable.

Attach the claw and connect the connector.

Attach the 2 claws to secure the rheostat.

Detach the 2 claws to remove the light control rheostat.
