The first step in FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL (U151E) replacement requires wheel removal together with engine under cover No.1. Drain the automatic transaxle fluid through the drain plug removal process before reinstalling a new gasket along with the drain plug and torquing it to 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.). The following service requires removal of front drive shaft assemblies from both right-hand and left-hand sides before using Special Service Tool: 09308-00010 to extract the transaxle housing oil seal. The same tool enables removal of the differential side bearing retainer oil seal. Use Special Service Tool: 09316-60011 (09316-00011) and a hammer to install the new transaxle housing oil seal with a drive-in depth between 0 plus or minus 0.5 mm (0 plus or minus 0.020 inch) while applying MP grease to the lip. Apply this sequence to fit the differential side bearing retainer oil seal using Special Service Tool: 09223-15020, 09950-70010 (09951-07150) and a hammer by maintaining similar drive-in depth while applying grease. The front drive shaft assembly LH and RH assembly must be reinstalled first and then the front wheels should be installed before torque application to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). Perform and check the fluid level of the automatic transaxle before reinstalling engine under cover No.1. Perform a signal inspection of the ABS speed sensor both for ABS with EBD system and ABS with EBD & BA & TRAC VSC & SYSTEM.

The front differential oil seal replacement (U151F) starts with front wheel removal and Engine Under Cover No.1 detachment along with automatic transaxle fluid draining through drain plug removal followed by gasket replacement and plug torque direction of 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft.lbs.). The differential side bearing retainer oil seal replacement process starts with removal of both the front drive shaft assembly LH and Special Service Tool: 09308-00010. Add new oil seal through Special Service Tools: 09223-15020 and 09950-70010 (09951-07150) followed by hammering the seal to reach a depth of 0 + 0.5 mm (0 + 0.020 inch) before coating its lip with MP grease. Install the front drive shaft assembly LH together with engine under cover No.1 and front wheel by applying torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). The technician needs to check the automatic transaxle fluid while inspecting its condition along with verifying front wheel alignment and ABS speed sensor signals. The necessary procedure for additional disassembly includes removing both engine assembly with transaxle and front drive shaft assemblies LH and RH together with the transfer stiffener plate RH and automatic transmission with transfer and transfer assembly. Before installing the new oil seal with Special Service Tool: 09649-17010, 09950-70010 (09951-07200) to 6.0 plus or minus 0.5 mm (0.236 plus or minus 0.020 inch) depth apply MP grease on the seal's lip. The service procedure ends with the installation of the front drive shaft assemblies RH and LH along with the transfer assembly and automatic transmission with transfer and transfer stiffener plate RH using Special Service Tool: 09670-00010.
