    Q:
How to service and repair the wheel bearing on Toyota Camry? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service and repair of wheel bearing starts with using a screwdriver to remove the dust deflector. The lower ball joint becomes accessible when you extract the cotter pin and nut followed by application of Special Service Tool: 09628-62011 to remove the ball joint. The removal process for the axle hub requires Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 followed by implementing Special Service Tool: 09950-00020, 09950-60010 (09951-00400), 09950-70010 (09951-07100) and a press to disassemble the inner race from the axle hub. Remove the dust cover through the process of unscrewing its four bolts by hand using a torx wrench (T30). A combination of snap ring pliers allows removal of the snap ring followed by installing the inner race on the bearing exterior while Special Service Tool: 09310-35010, 09527-17011 and a press are used to extract the bearing. A press and Special Service Tool: 09608-32010 should be used to install the knob bearing before setting the new snap ring with snap ring pliers. Fasten the dust cover onto the steering knuckle by screwing and tightening its 4 bolts to 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.). Install the front axle hub through Special Service Tools 09310-35010, 09608-32010 and a press followed by installing the lower ball joint then torquing the nut to 123 Nm (1,250 kgf-cm, 90 ft. lbs.). Insert a new cotter pin after the installation process. Install the new dust deflector by using Special Service Tool: 09316-60011 (09316-00011, 09316-00041), 09608-32010 and a hammer to position the holes of the ABS speed sensor correctly into the steering knuckle.

    Q:
How to service and repair the rear wheel bearing on Toyota Camry? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service procedure for rear wheel bearing begins with removing the rear wheel through 103 Nm torque force (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft. lbs.). The rear brake procedure requires disc brake caliper and disc removal while extending torque to 47 Nm (475 kgf.cm, 34 ft. lbs.) followed by proper brake caliper support. The removal process starts with drum brake system drums. The bearing backlash evaluation and axle hub deviation test must use a dial indicator with 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch) backlash limit and 0.07 mm (0.0028 inch) deviation limit. Exceedances of the measurement limits require a replacement of both axle hub and bearing. The necessary step is to remove the rear axle hub by unbolting its four components with 80 Nm (820 kgf.cm, 59 ft. lbs.) torque setting then extracting the O-ring during installation. You should coat the new O-ring with MP grease before installation. To disconnect flexible hoses from drum brake shock absorbers use a torque of 29 Nm while applying support to the backing plate. The ABS speed sensor needs removal with an 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 Inch lbs.) torque when present. For external nuts on the rear axle carrier apply 196 Nm (2,000 kgf.cm, 145 ft. lbs.) torque when reinstalling used nuts and the torque should be 255 Nm (2,600 kgf.cm, 188 ft. lbs.) when installing new nuts while Nut B requires 181 Nm (1,850 kgf.cm, 134 ft. lbs.). Apply engine oil to reused nuts before suspension stabilization and torque them to the proper values. The process requires removal of the bolt and nut which connects the strut rod to the rear axle carrier while stopping the nut rotation through 113 Nm (1,150 kgf.cm, 83 ft. lbs.) torque. Start by taking off the two nuts and bolts which are located on the shock absorber's lower side. Next dispatch the rear axle carrier using the nut, bolt and No.2 lower suspension arm. The installing process follows exactly the opposite order of unmounting. The installation procedure requires checking the ABS speed sensor signal and rear wheel alignment through appropriate signal testing procedures after installation.

    Q:
How to service and repair the wheel bearing on Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
You can begin service and repair of wheel bearings by using a screwdriver to remove the dust deflector. Proceed by removing the lower ball joint after you remove its cotter pin and nut and apply Special Service Tool: 09628-62011 to the lower ball joint. The process of extracting the axle hub starts with Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 then continues by adding Special Service Tool: 09950-00020, 09950-60010 (09951-00400), 09950-70010 (09951-07100) and a press to remove the inner race from the axle hub assembly. Procedure for dust cover removal entails using a torx wrench (T30) to unscrew its 4 bolts. A press with Special Service Tool: 09527-17011 and 09310-35010 can pull out the bearing from the steering knuckle after removing its snap ring with snap ring pliers. To reassemble the knuckle mount the new bearing using Special Service Tool: 09608-32010 together with a press followed by installing a new snap ring with snap ring pliers. Reassemble the dust cover with its four bolts through torx wrench (T30) administration to a torque specification of 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.). The required tools including Special Service Tool: 09310-35010, 09608-32010 and a press enable the installation of the axle hub. To install the lower ball joint, torque the nut to 123 Nm before inserting a new cotter pin that requires aligned holes; continue tightening the nut if the holes are not properly aligned by 60 degrees. With the help of Special Service Tool: 09316-60011 (09316-00011, 09316-00041, 09608-32010) alongside a hammer, install the new dust deflector while matching the speed sensor hole in the dust deflector to that of the steering knuckle.
