Service of the heated oxygen sensor begins with disconnection of the negative battery terminal cable. The heated oxygen sensor requires removal by first discharging the 4WD drive wire harness clamp along with the heated oxygen sensor connector followed by sensor extraction with Special Service Tool: 09224-00010. The installation of the heated oxygen sensor should be performed using Special Service Tool: 09224-00010 while setting the torque to 44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf) or 40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) using a torque wrench with a 300 mm (11.81 in.) fulcrum length. The vehicle requires a wire harness clamp installation for the 4WD drive types followed by connection of the oxygen sensor connector. The cable must be reconnected to the negative battery terminal with a torque of 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) followed by an inspection of exhaust gas leakage.

When installing the heated oxygen sensor for 2TR-FE emission control use Special Service Tool: 09224-00010 to fasten the sensor with torque values of 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf) or 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf) based on whether you utilize the specified tool. A torque wrench must have a fulcrum of 300 mm (11.81 in.) for installation. The wire harness clamp for 4WD drive type needs attachment so install it followed by oxygen sensor connector assembly. Engineers must install the cable to the negative battery terminal using 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf) of torque before inspecting for exhaust gas leakage.

The service process for the Air-Fuel Ratio Sensor starts with battery cable removal from the terminal. Send the air fuel ratio sensor to removal by unplugging the air fuel ratio sensor connector and wire harness clamp followed by use of Special Service Tool: 09224-00010. To install the air fuel ratio sensor employ Special Service Tool: 09224-00010 and apply 44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf) torque while using a 300 mm (11.81 in.) fitted torque wrench. Alternatively, use a torque of 40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) with the tool. Following installation you should link the air fuel ratio sensor to the connector and the wire harness clamp. Secure the negative battery cable with 3.9 N.m of torque using a 40 kgf.cm (35 in.lbf) configuration.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal, torquing it to 3.9 N.m (40 Kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf).

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect its connector and the wire harness clamp, then use Special Service Tool: 09224-00010 to remove the sensor.
