Suspension Crossmember, Rear

The process of removing the rear suspension member on 2WD vehicles begins with removing the deck board assembly and continuing with taking off the No. 3 and No. 2 deck board sub-assemblies and tonneau cover assembly. Starting with the removal of the rear mat then proceed to take out the deck trim service hole cover followed by the lower spare wheel carrier hinge cover after which you should remove the spare tire and spare wheel carrier lock cover. The next procedure involves removing the rear wheels followed by dividing the rear stabilizer link assemblies from both sides before taking out the rear stabilizer bar. The technician must proceed by disassembling the rear No. 2 suspension arm assemblies on both sides before continuously working on the rear No. 1 suspension arm assemblies with a standard procedure applied to both sides. In this step separate the exhaust pipe clamp before removing the bracket assembly through removal of its three bolts. Place the rear suspension member on wooden blocks with a jack while you remove its four nuts along with two bolts and four rear lower suspension member stoppers before lowering the member. Proceed with the removal of the rear suspension member by protecting both the vehicle body and other parts from potential damage. Special Service Tools 09527-17011 09950-70010 together with a press are needed to detach the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion LH from the rear suspension member sub-assembly while supporting the assembly through pressing. The same method should be applied to remove the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion RH. To remove the rear suspension member body mounting rear cushion from the LH side of the vehicle use Special Service Tool: 09527-17011 09950-70010 and a press which requires the user to support the sub-assembly when pressing. Then execute the exact procedure for the RH side. Start by removing the three hole plugs from the rear suspension member sub-assembly where some hole plugs are in different sizes before unfastening both sides' stud bolts using the established procedure each time.

The removal process for 2WD rear suspension member starts with the elimination of the deck board assembly followed by No. 3 sub-assembly with tonneau cover and No. 2 sub-assembly with tonneau cover and tonneau cover assembly and rear mat. Start with the sequence of removing the deck trim service hole cover and ending with the rear wheels after removing the spare wheel carrier lock cover and spare tire and lower spare wheel carrier hinge cover. You need to separate rear stabilizer link assemblies from left and right sides before removing the rear stabilizer bar along with both rear No. 2 suspension arm assemblies. First detach the exhaust pipe clamp bracket sub-assembly by splitting the exhaust pipe clamp and extracting the three bolts. Use a jack with two wooden blocks to support the rear suspension member after which you need to remove the four nuts, two bolts and four rear lower suspension member stoppers before lowering it down to remove the member without damaging vehicle body parts or other components. Special Service Tools 09527-17011 09950-70010 together with a press should be used to remove the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion LH from the sub-assembly while providing support to the sub-assembly during the pressing operation. Use the same tools and supporting methods to uninstall the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion RH and rear suspension member body mounting rear cushions from all sides. Close the process by taking out three hole plugs from the rear suspension member sub-assembly as well as removing stud bolts on both the left and right sides.

Install the spare wheel carrier lock cover, spare tire, lower spare wheel carrier hinge cover, deck trim service hole cover, rear mat, tonneau cover assembly, No. 2 and No. 3 deck board sub-assemblies, and the deck board assembly, concluding with an inspection and adjustment of the rear wheel alignment.

Temporarily install it, then use Special Service Tool: 09950-70010 09951-07100 and a press to fully install it, ensuring there is no clearance between the cushion and the sub-assembly, taking care not to deform the member.
