Before beginning work on the cigarette lighter assembly users should disconnect the cable from the battery terminal while waiting at least 90 seconds to avoid activating Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Users should begin by removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly followed by unclipping the 2 claws from both the cigarette lighter cover and the front console panel upper section of manual transaxle vehicles. The process starts with knob and element removal followed by socket rotation to free the claw holding the cigarette lighter bezel stay after which the socket can be pulled out. Use the socket to align with the notch on the cigarette lighter bezel stay to get rid of the assembly. Push the cigarette lighter into the socket notch of the bezel stay before firmly securing it then fit the knob and element into their proper places. You must install the new cigarette lighter cover while also installing both the console panel upper and the shift lever knob sub-assembly. Connection to the negative battery terminal should be followed by system initialization when certain systems demand it after cable disconnection.

Start by aligning the Cigarette Lighter assembly with the notch of Cigarette Lighter cover then push it in with maximum force. The installation starts with front console panel upper while moving to rear console box sub-assembly followed by rear console panel sub-assembly upper. The installation of shift lever knob sub-assembly follows. After placing the components you will need to connect the cable to the negative battery terminal before performing initialization as the systems need this procedure when disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Start service of the Auxiliary Power Outlet by taking out the instrument cover lower center. Detach the 4 claws before disconnecting the connector. Turn the cigarette lighter along its circumference before pushing and removing this component by disengaging the claw holding the socket to CTR. Install the cigarette lighter by aligning the notch to power outlet socket CTR then push it in tightly. Complete the installation of the instrument cover lower center by connecting the connector while opening the 4 claws.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal and perform initialization, as certain systems require this after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.

Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Align the socket with the notch on the power point socket cover.

First, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

Turn the socket to disengage the claw between the socket and the power point socket cover, and then pull out the socket.

Remove the front console panel upper.

First, remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly for the manual transaxle.

First, remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly center.

Reinstall the Rear Console Box Sub-Assembly for Automatic Transaxle.

Remove the rear console box sub-assembly for both manual and automatic transaxle vehicles.

Remove the FRONT SEAT ARMREST ASSY CENTER.

Align the cut-out on the body with the claw on the power point socket cover and install the assembly to the body.

Pull out the cigarette lighter assembly.

Align the socket with the notch on the cigarette lighter bezel stay and remove the assembly towards the room side.

Align the socket with the cutout of the power outlet socket cover and fully push it to install.

Complete the process with the tonneau cover assembly.
