The first task to remove the radiator cooling fan involves disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. The technician must remove the V-bank cover followed by No.1 engine under cover sub-assembly. Proceed by removing the radiator support seal upper as well as the fan shroud. The last step is to detach the fan through a procedure of removing its four retaining nuts from the fluid coupling.

One should begin radiator cooling fan service and repair by unplugging the negative battery cable. The service requires removal of V-bank cover and No.1 engine under cover sub-assembly and radiator support seal upper and fan shroud followed by fan removal through 4 nuts that secure it to the fluid coupling. Look for damage and silicon oil leaks on the fluid coupling assembly before replacing it when needed. The installation process involves attaching the fan to the coupling through 4 nuts where torque should be set to 9.0 N m (92 kgf cm, 80 in. lbf.). You should put back the fan shroud followed by the radiator support seal upper and then the No.1 engine under cover sub-assembly and V-bank cover. Smoothly reattach the battery terminal cable to its negative port while applying 3.9 N m torque (40 kgf cm, 35 ft. lbf.).

Install the upper radiator support seal.

Install the No.1 engine under cover sub-assembly.

Remove the No. 1 engine under cover.

Remove the fan shroud and the fan by taking off the 4 nuts securing it to the fluid coupling.

Install the No. 1 engine under cover.
