    A:
    First step in extracting the Engine Control Module (ECM) for the 2TR-FE engine control system is to eliminate the negative battery cable. First remove the glove compartment door assembly while also taking out the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly lower RH. Begin by removing the 4 connectors connected to the ECM then proceed with unscrewing the 2 bolts and nut to remove the ECM from its place. The next operation requires removing the ECM bracket by detaching its 3 screws then removing ECM bracket Number 2 by unscrewing its two screws. A proper VIN registration process should be completed whenever replacing an ECM and throttle body initialization must also happen.
