Toyota Yaris Wheel Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear Wheel Hub and Wheel Bearing on Toyota Yaris?
A: Bombardier Challenger 300 & 350 models must begin repairs on the rear wheel hub and bearing by breaking the battery negative cable connection followed by wheel and drum removal. To disconnect the skid control sensor wire with ABS you need a screwdriver for opening the connector lock claw before removing the wire connector yet maintain the connector cover in place to protect the wire. Proceed with removing the rear wheel hub and bearing assembly by extracting its 4 bolts before suspending the backing plate with a piece of rope. Install the wheel hub and bearing on the axle beam through its 4 bolts before torquing them to 90 N m (918 kgf cm, 67 ft. lbf). Spaces for the new connections should be inspected before attaching the skid control sensor wire connector to its location. Reinstall the rear brake drum sub-assembly followed by setting rear drum brake shoe clearance, then reinstall the rear wheel and torque it to 103 N m (1,050 kgf cm, 76 ft. lbf). Complete the procedure by connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal with 5.4 N m (55 kgf cm) torque and verify the ABS sensor signal through ABS.
