The throttle cable/linkage service requires starting with battery removal before removing the cruise control actuator through its 3 bolt detachment. Begin the throttle cable repair by disconnecting the unit from its position at the throttle linkage of the engine. Next remove the valve body before proceeding to remove the park/neutral position switch. Start the throttle cable service by eliminating the bolt together with the retaining plate followed by pulling the cable inside the transaxle case. After properly installing the new throttle cable into the transaxle case you must push it in fully before securing the retaining plate along with the bolt while torquing it to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.). New throttle cables need their stoppers painted at the 0.8 to 1.5 mm (0.031 to 0.059 inch) distance from the outer cable end while pulling the inner cable gently until you feel slight resistance and creating the 200 mm (7.87 inch) radius on the cable stopper through bending. Connect the throttle cable to the engine and torque it to 15 Nm (150 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). Then proceed to adjust the throttle cable. The park/neutral position switch and cruise control actuator will receive 3 bolts which need to be torqued to 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm) or 9 ft. lbs. The final step includes reattaching the battery while performing a test drive of the vehicle.
